Payment issue Ireland

Modified on Mon, 11 Nov at 12:31 PM

We are seeing an increasing number of payment errors from customers attempting to pay by credit card, all due to a single issue: incorrect postcode entries.

In Ireland, postcodes don’t always align with the Address Verification System (AVS) standards used globally by payment providers. When entering billing details for a credit card payment, it’s essential to ensure that the postcode matches what the bank or card issuer has on file. A mismatch will trigger an AVS check, causing the transaction to be declined as part of the system’s security to prevent fraud.

If you encounter payment errors, please contact your bank to confirm that your postcode meets AVS requirements. If necessary, your bank can update it so your card can be used successfully.
